Killer Notebooks pioneered the custom notebook experience. From humble beginnings of simple carbonfiber looking vinyl, to a "skin" for looks. We moved to the forefront of the industry and kept improving our offerings to what we have today. We understood our customers and how they wanted something that reflected who they were, while our cometition mocked the endeaver as "cheap stickers". Like may great visionaries, on each step of our journey there was always someone there looking over our shoulder trying to mimic the process. Soon our competition started offering "cheap-stickers" too.

These are what we call the "me too" competition.. We did "skins", they did something they thought was the same. They used a vehical sticker known as a "wrap". One of the problems with immitation is that the imitator rarely knows why they are doing it. Their motives are to offer something to compete, rather than an art form to push the limits of what their customers can express about themselves.
If one does not go through the steps to learn and understand the limitations of the different processes employed, they will get a mediocre result. In fact, we found that bringing the process "in-house" improved our quality control and increased our knowledge as well as increased the complexity of the customizations we could offer.
The "me too's" use a 2 mil wrap with a 4 ink process... satisfied with how they looked. There is nothing that protects the notebook or the skin from damage other than extreme care by the user. The problem as we saw it was that this offered little protection and cusomarily displayed air bubbles traped under its surface. People want custom graphics, but they also want something to protect their system.

We never used a 2 mil vinyl even at the beginning with the Gaming Skins, ours were 5 mil. and we still had issues with air bubbles. We went back to the drawing board. Our current Graphic Shields employ an 8 ink process that is printed with environmental resistive ink on a non-elastic material. It is then covered with a protective surface that is 15 mils thick. The result is a graphic surface that is nearly indestructible. Literally a "shield" for your investment.
